Why Work With Me?
That's a great question! To answer that question, I will provide a brief story which will explain why I became a life coach and why I may be a great coach for you!
After graduating university with a B.A. in Business Administration, with a concentration on management, I was totally lost. I had a degree in a field that I was less than thrilled to be entering. However, I had college loans to pay back and a family to support, so I accepted a job with an organization that really was not a good fit. Too make matter worse, I stayed with the organization for far too long. I was miserable with my career, yet I was totally comfortable. I lacked zero career direction and was held captive by the fear of failure.
So I went to graduate school. I received a M.A. in Organizational Leadership where I did my graduate research on Corporate Social Responsibility and the consumer. I chose this path because I thought it would help me get into upper management. Upper management in the same organization I hated. Remember, I previously wrote I lacked career direction.
However, having a graduate degree provided me with the opportunity to teach at a local community college. I was lead faculty in the Humanities department for almost a decade. I taught Critical Thinking and Ethics and Moral Theories. It was during this time I discovered I really liked listening and helping others achieve success.
However, after nine years the classes I taught were moved into a different academic department, in which, I did not have enough graduate hours to teach in the department.
So building on my desire to help others achieve their goals, I decided to become a life coach.
When you work with me, you will work with a coach who is relational, a good listener, transparent, humorous, and curious.
Approach to Coaching
Logic meets intuition. I believe in practical strategies grounded in what actually works, but I also trust the wisdom that comes from tuning into your inner knowing.
Honesty with compassion. You will get direct feedback and truth-telling, delivered with genuine care for your wellbeing and growth.
Humor as medicine. Transformation is serious work, but that does not mean we cannot laugh. Humor creates perspective and makes the hard stuff more bearable.
Accountability that empowers. I will hold you accountable to your commitments, not to make you feel guilty, but because I believe in your capacity to create the change you are seeking.
Transformation, not just tactics. We are not just tweaking surface behaviors—we are creating fundamental shifts in how you see yourself and move through the world.
Clients leave with clarity and lasting personal transformation that extends far beyond our time together.
